⛰️Welcome to Casa Pura, an ecological sanctuary hidden in the mountains of San José del Pacífico.

This amazing Airbnb had a small herb garden to pick from, hiking trails down to the river, a hammock in the middle of the living room looking over the valley, meditative sound bowls, a guitar, books, a full kitchen, a giant moon opening above the bed where a full moon beamed through, fresh spring water, wood fire heater, and best of all…still had internet and hot water.

The shower felt like a tucked away waterfall, complete with natural rock features and live plants growing all around it. You’re covered, but you can hear and feel the outdoors breathing around you. It’s the closest thing to showering in nature without actually being outside.

The hosts even made us dinner one night and walked it down us through the trees.

Best treehouse ever.

Día de los Muertos 💀
Flowers, candles, food, fireworks, and stories of the deceased.

We spent much of our time in Oaxaca diving into the culture surrounding Día de los Muertos. Honoring the ones who walked before us with color, sound, and all the things they loved most. I’ve seen photos, I’ve seen Coco, but nothing really prepared me for really placing myself not only in a place I could not speak the language, but somewhere I had to feel vulnerable in watching elaborate celebrations instead of grieving like we lean into in the states.

It was loud, it was vibrant, and it was beautiful.
