Born and raised in Orange County, California, Austin Hughes found his passion for storytelling early – picking up and filming videos, as early as 8 years old, on his dad’s old camcorder and editing them just for fun. By age 15, he was already working professionally as an editor for a stock footage archive, where he restored and digitized vintage film reels dating back to the 1930s. That early exposure to the history of film helped shape a deep appreciation for the craft.
A graduate of Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts (class of 2018), Austin now works as a Los Angeles-based filmmaker and content creator, collaborating with brands, agencies, and artists to produce narrative-driven commercial work. His skills span cinematography, video editing, photography, motion design, visual effects, and branded storytelling, with a particular emphasis on visual identity and emotionally grounded work.
Austin thrives in forward-thinking environments where creativity and innovation intersect. He’s committed to pushing the boundaries of every frame—applying cinematic technique, storytelling clarity, and design-minded execution to every project.
